Chichen Itza – Wonder of the Modern World

Chichen Itza is located 280 kilometers from Cancun, which makes it a very practical place to reach. Just take into consideration that we will be in the transportation for approximately 2.00-2.30 hours. Many people ask us, "Is it worth it?" The answer is definitely YES.

Once you arrive and see the Temple of Kukulcan, everything else is forgotten and it justifies a well-deserved and long-awaited trip. This beauty that you cannot understand and that at the same time you love, is what makes you appreciate how much beauty and history there is in Mexico

On more than one occasion, we have witnessed people who have dreamed all their lives of being in this place full of mysticism, but when you come out of the impression and that "I can't believe I'm here", you continue with the guided tour, which is necessary to understand what you are seeing. This tour takes you in the sun between the Castle (the main temple), the Ball Court (where the twins played against the gods) and the Temple of the Warriors, etc.

Chichen Itza Tours from CancunIf you ever decide to spend your vacation in Cancun, we insist that everyone visit Chichen Itza. It will meet and exceed each of your expectations, as the tour is complemented with other spectacular places such as an impressive cenote, buffet lunch and a visit to a colonial city called Valladolid, where you can see for yourself the current relationship between the Mayan natives and people from all over the world. Of course, all this at a FAIR price that will be very difficult to refuse

You have to wake up early to arrive early, before the heat gets stronger and because of the large influx of visitors

Check out this comment from our guests: "Upon entering, you walk along a single path between trees that don't provide much shade, until you reach a tremendous plaque that indicates it's one of the 7 Wonders of the World, and then, around a tree appears one of the most beautiful and unimaginable temples we are fortunate to know, El Castillo de Chichen Itza. until, finally, Chichen Itza appeared before our eyes. What emotion overwhelmed me! My eyes filled with tears, that image so often seen in photos and now, there, in front of us! All its history and a more than interesting tour, an unavoidable visit!"

You see it and you know that impressive things have happened so that the mystique of the place is reflected in a stone building, the house of Kukulcan in glory and majesty, and it is this monument that you 1 have seen so many times in books and in the experiences of others that you never thought possible would be your experience

Entrance fee and taxes to Chichen Itza are included on the price

Cenote

Visiting Chichen Itza from Cancun alone is worth the price of the excursion; however, being so far away and after investing a full day of our vacation, we can take a look at one of the most beautiful cenotes in the region, where after walking in the Chichen Itza sun, bathing in those fresh waters is very comforting

Buffet Lunch

Yucatecan food is an explosion of flavors, as it is a mix of Mayan food with Spanish food; they fused and created the delicious Yucatecan cuisine, which contains indigenous ingredients such as corn, beans, chili, etc.

However, there are also options such as fruit, salads, spaghetti, etc

Brief Visit to Valladolid

And to top off a perfect day, on the way back to Cancun, we will stop at one of the magical towns in the southeast of the country, called Valladolid, where there is the opportunity to see firsthand the fusions of the different mixes of races such as Spanish and Mayan, a colonial church, a beautiful park like in fairy tales, and many Mayan natives around us selling their crafts.

1.- Do you pick me up at my hotel lobby?

We pick up at most hotels in the Cancun Hotel Zone, as we have an established route. However, if you are staying in a small hotel / Airbnb / apartment, it's very likely that you will have to go to a meeting point which is usually very close to your accommodation

2.- What's the usual time range for the pickup of the Chichen Itza excursion?

Pickup times for the Chichen Itza excursions from Cancun are between 06:40 and 07:50 am

3.- I'm not in a hotel, but in an Airbnb. Where would the meeting place be?

Please send your location so we can tell you the closest place. We have several spots spread throughout downtown Cancun. The most common one is in front of the Cancun bus terminal, outside a hotel called Plaza Caribe. Send us a message via WhatsApp, and we will gladly go into detail

4.- When and how will the exact time and definitive meeting point for the trip to Chichen Itza be confirmed to me?

When you make your reservation, we can tell you the meeting place and the approximate time within a usual period of 12 hours. If you want an immediate answer, the ideal is to send a message via WhatsApp, as we sometimes have many emails to answer

5. - Can I choose the time when you would pick me up?

Unfortunately, no. This is a shared / group tour to Chichen Itza with an established structure. If you wish to leave at a specific time and return at a specific time, the ideal option is a private excursion to Chichen

6.- If I'm staying in a hotel, where exactly should I wait for the transport (e.g., main lobby, service entrance, etc.)?

Usually, the meeting place is outside the hotel lobby; however, there are hotels where you have to exit the lobby and wait on the main road, although these cases are very rare

7.- What time would you pass by to go to Chichen Itza?

The pickup time depends on your hotel's location, but it's within a timeframe of 06:40 am – 07:50 am

If you would like to know the approximate time, please send a message with your hotel's location on Google Maps

8.- If my accommodation is an Airbnb or a private address, where will my closest pickup or meeting point be?

If you are in downtown Cancun, the most probable location is outside the Plaza Caribe hotel, which is in front of the ADO bus terminal

If you are in the hotel zone, the meeting place will be a large hotel near your Airbnb

9.- Is the pickup time the same if I am staying in the Cancun hotel zone or downtown, or in the Cancun airport area?

These are two completely different areas and the times are not the same. Please send a message with the name of your hotel and we will gladly tell you the approximate pickup time for your specific hotel and if we have pickup at that hotel

10.- What type of vehicle will be used to pick me up?

They are usually vans that take you to where the bus is that leaves for Chichen Itza, although there is also the possibility that the bus will pick you up. It all depends on the number of reservations for that specific day

11.- What should I do if the transportation does not arrive at the exact confirmed pickup time?

Send a message via WhatsApp immediately so we can monitor the location of the transportation. There is a possibility that the transportation is delayed, but be sure to send the message

12.- How will I know who's picking me up?

When you book, we'll send you all the detailed information about the person who's coming to get you. Plus, you'll always have a direct line via WhatsApp with our customer service crew!

13.- What if the bus shows up earlier than the agreed-upon time?

They usually wait until the time that was set before. It's important to be ready at least 5 minutes early and keep an eye on your phone because that's how we'll let you know when the ride has arrived!

14.- Is it guaranteed that you'll pick us up?

Yes, absolutely! We've got a commitment and a reputation to maintain. Please send us a message when you are at the meeting spot so we know you're all set and we can track approximately how long it will take for your ride to get to you

15.- How long will the driver wait for me at the meeting point before taking off?

They can't wait around for too long! Remember, the ride has to pick up more people since it's a shared / group tour. We really need you to be there 5 minutes early so you don't miss out on the excursion

16.- I'm running a little late and haven't gotten to the meeting place yet. Can they wait for me?

That's a bit tricky! Remember, the ride already has people who were picked up before you, and after grabbing you, they're going to pick up even more people. It depends on the number of reservations and how late the transport is running. The best bet is to be on time at the meeting place to avoid missing the excursion

17.- What happens if I show up late to the meeting point and miss my ride?

If you are a group of less than 4 people, we can usually reschedule you for the next day. If it's a bigger group, please send a message because every case is looked at separately. We ask you to be on time at the agreed-upon place and time to avoid these hassles

18.- I'm already at the meeting place at the agreed-upon time, but I don't see the van. What should I do?

Send a message via WhatsApp telling us you're ready at the meeting place so we can chat with the driver and figure out an estimated time for when they'll arrive to pick you up

19.- Is the pickup time based on Cancun time (Quintana Roo) or Yucatán time?

It's always the local time for the state of Quintana Roo

20.- Do I need to show any confirmation, coupon, or ID when boarding the vehicle?

Yes! When you book, we'll send you a confirmation PDF for the services, and you got to show that to the driver / guide when you get on board

21.- Is there a specific way to recognize the excursion vehicle (e.g., a logo, agency name)?

Unfortunately, we can't know ahead of time which specific transportation will be coming for you, but the customer service crew will always be keeping an eye on you via WhatsApp. When you make your reservation, we'll let you know the name of the company that's providing the service

22.- Can I ask to be picked up at a different hotel than the one I mentioned in my original booking?

If you give us a heads-up at least 24 hours in advance, we can totally make those changes! No last-minute hotel swaps though, sorry! You always gotta let us know early to make sure we can actually pick you up

23.- If my pickup time is super early and I have to check out, can I bring my luggage on the bus?

Send us a message! We look at those cases separately. It depends on the time of year and how many people have booked. It's important that if you're bringing luggage, you tell us beforehand so we can figure out if there's enough room on the transportation

24.- Does the order and time of my pickup affect the return time when the tour ends?

It might! Please send us a message with your questions. If you have another commitment and need to arrive by a specific time, it's a good idea to let us know so we can see if your time estimates actually line up with the reality of the excursion

1.- Can I climb the Kukulcan Pyramid (El Castillo)?

Sadly, no. It's strictly forbidden to climb or even touch the Maya structures or buildings. If you do, you'll be facing legal trouble with the Chichen Itza authorities

2.- What's the best day and time to visit Chichen Itza and skip the crowds?

The best time is super early in the morning, between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM, right when the archaeological site opens. If you're into an early bird tour, we have options focused on getting to Chichen Itza early. Unfortunately, this specific excursion doesn't hit Chichen Itza first

Check out this option: Early Arrival Chichen Itza Excursion

3.- Is a certified guide included in the tour?

Yes! A certified guide will give you an explanation on the most important spots at Chichen Itza. The talk lasts about 30–45 minutes, and then you get free time to snap photos and explore Chichen Itza on your own

4.- What kind of shoes and clothes are recommended to wear for the visit?

Comfy shoes, like sneakers, and light clothes because of the heat and humidity on the Yucatan Peninsula. Check out this link for things to bring!

5.- Are there lockers or somewhere I can stash my stuff (big backpacks, etc.)?

Unfortunately, nope. It's important to only bring what you really need. Sometimes, you might be able to leave a few things on the transportation, but you absolutely have to ask the guide first so they can keep an eye on your belongings

6.- What days are least crowded at Chichen Itza?

Usually May to September. Mondays are also generally less busy. Even so, Chichen Itza is a super popular place, and there's always a good flow of people all year round

7.- Can I bring food, drinks, and/or snacks into the archaeological site?

Technically no, only water is allowed. It creates a lot of trash and attracts wild animals like dogs and cats, plus there aren't enough garbage cans

8.- Do I have to pay extra fees if I bring a video camera or a GoPro?

If it's a GoPro, it's pretty likely you'll have to pay a tax. You can check with the guide for the latest info on that specific issue. Cell phones don't have any extra cost

9.- Can I bring my baby's food?

Sure thing! You can bring milk, diapers, and anything else your baby might need

10.- What other important structures, besides El Castillo, should I make sure to visit?

Besides the Kukulkan pyramid or El Castillo, we check out the surrounding buildings like the Temple of a Thousand Columns, the Ball Court, plus other structures in the central area of Chichen Itza

11.- Can I buy souvenirs, and how easy is it to haggle with the vendors?

Yes, you can buy souvenirs at Chichen Itza it's your personal call. However, using your limited time inside Chichen Itza to buy a souvenir, when you can grab it at Walmart or Mega (supermarket stores with cheaper prices), isn't really the best idea. Still, you're free to do whatever you want with your free time!

12.- Is it possible to visit the nighttime "Nights of Kukulkan" light show with the same tour or ticket?

Unfortunately, no. This excursion does not include "Nights of Kukulkan" because that kind of package isn't one, we offer

13.- What spots will we be checking out at Chichen Itza?

We'll be hitting up the buildings and monuments in the central part of the archaeological zone:

  • The Kukulkan pyramid or El Castillo
  • The Great Ball Court
  • Temple of the Warriors
  • Group of a Thousand Columns
  • Platform of Venus (or Kukulkan Platform)
  • Tzompantli (Platform of the Skulls)

Unfortunately, because of time limits, we won't be visiting the south side, which is where the Observatory, Las Monjas, and La Iglesia

If you're really set on seeing every corner of Chichen Itza, please send us a message so we can look for a private excursion that better suits what you're looking for

14.- How much time will we spend at Chichen Itza?

2 hours inside the archaeological zone

We promise to be inside Chichen Itza for a period of 2 hours. If you want an excursion that spends more time at Chichen Itza, please send us a message so we can find a tour that meets your expectations

15.- What should I bring to Chichen Itza?

Check out this link for a detailed explanation of what to bring to Chichen Itza, but here's the must-have list:

  • Phone at 100% charge
  • Camera
  • Cash
  • Towels for drying off
  • Swimsuit and a change of dry clothes

  • Food or snacks for the road
  • A blanket to cover up in case the bus is too cold
  • Neck pillow for sleeping
  • Book, notebook, or games to keep you busy on the transport

1.- What's the total travel distance from where I start (e.g., Cancun) to Chichen Itza?

Chichen Itza isn't exactly around the corner from Cancun! It's about a 2.5-hour drive there and another 2.5 hours back. So, just for the driving part, you need to budget about 5 hours!

Check out this link for more info: How long is a trip to Chichen Itza?

2.- What's included if I book my Chichen Itza excursion with you guys?

3.- How much total travel time (one-way trip only) should I expect on the bus until we get to the archaeological zone?

This is a group tour, and the time inside the archaeological zone is set at 2 hours. You can't stay longer. If you wish, or if your expectation is to spend more time at Chichen Itza, send a message, and we'd be happy to find an option that fits what you're looking for

Here's a link with a detailed explanation: How much time is needed to see Chichen Itza?

5.- If my Chichen Itza tour includes a stop at a cenote, how much time is set aside for swimming?

The approximate time at the cenote is 60 minutes

6.- Are life vests and lockers included at the cenote?

Unfortunately, no. The cenote visit includes the entrance and use of the facilities, but if you're going to swim, you have to rent a life vest (it's mandatory!). There are also lockers for rent. However, you can leave your things on the bus

7.- What's the distance between the Chichen Itza archaeological site and the cenote we'll be visiting?

It's 35 minutes! Check out this map to get a more concrete idea: Check this map

8.- Why does the Chichen Itza excursion take so long?

It's because of the distance you have to travel from Cancun to Chichen Itza it's not close! It's actually in another state (Yucatán). Plus, there are other spots we visit like lunch, the cenote, and the quick stop in Valladolid. All that adds up to about a 12-hour excursion. Please keep this in mind so your time budget matches reality!

9.- If a visit to Valladolid is included, how much free time will we have to walk around the small town?

It's just a quick visit, about 30 minutes

10.- Are there any technical or rest stops included on the way to and from Chichen Itza?

Yes! The first stop is usually at a hacienda about 30 minutes before getting to Chichen Itza for lunch. After Chichen Itza, we visit the cenote, and the last stop is Valladolid. Just keep in mind that the order of the places we visit can change due to unexpected circumstances, and this is just a general guide

11.- Besides the Chichen Itza entrance, does the tour cost cover the entrance to the cenote and Valladolid?

Yes, that's right! The Chichen Itza excursion includes the visit to a cenote and a brief stop in the colonial city of Valladolid

12.- Does the guided tour at Chichen Itza have a set time, or does it adjust to the group's pace?

The time we are committed to being at Chichen Itza is 2 hours. If you want an excursion that spends more time in the archaeological zone, please send a message, and we'd be happy to give you options that match your expectations, like a private tour!

1. Is food included in the price of the excursion?

Yes, a regional yucatecan buffet-style meal is included! The main choices are:

  • Cochinita Pibil (slow-roasted pork)
  • Pollo Pibil (slow-roasted chicken)
  • Spaghetti
  • Rice
  • Beans
  • Salads
  • Fruit

If you're vegetarian, there are a few options, but the meal doesn't specialize in meat-free dishes

If you keep kosher or have an allergy, the best thing to do is bring some of your own food and supplement it with what you can eat from the buffet. Unfortunately, that's still a pretty new thing in Mexico, and we barely have any options like that. Send a message so we can go into detail about it!

Keep in mind that this is a standard buffet meal. If you're staying at a high-end hotel and want a meal with more options, please send a message so we can find an option that matches your expectations

2.- Is the buffet-style meal and the time allocated for eating included within the 11-12 hours duration of the Chichen Itza tour?

Yes, the excursion includes ONE regional buffet-style meal, but you can buy more food if you're still hungry at the cenote or grab something quick in Valladolid

3.- Are drinks included in this excursion?

The standard excursion doesn't include drinks. However, we have a PLUS option that includes a box lunch, drinks on the transportation, and 2 drinks (350 milliliters each) with the buffet meal

4. What kind of food is served in the included buffet?

Yes, it's regional yucatecan food. The main options are:

  • Cochinita Pibil
  • Pollo Pibil
  • Spaghetti
  • Rice
  • Beans
  • Salads
  • Fruit

5. Are options offered for vegetarians, vegans, or people with allergies?

There are a few options for vegetarians, like rice, beans, spaghetti, salads, or fruit. However, the buffet isn't specialized in vegetarian food. Please send a message because we have luxury excursions where the buffet has more options

Regarding allergies, it's the customer's responsibility to ask if a dish has an ingredient, they are allergic to, and if that's the case, they shouldn't eat it. Send a message so we can look into this topic more deeply

6.- Are there options to buy snacks or extra food during the tour?

Yes! You can buy snacks at the exit of Chichen Itza, there's a restaurant at the cenote, and in Valladolid, you can buy quick snacks to eat on the way back

7. Can I bring my own food and drinks on the tour?

Yes, but at the restaurant, you have to buy the drinks they sell. Unfortunately, we aren't the restaurant managers. They give us a special price, but the restaurant makes its profit from the drinks they sell to customers

8. What time is the main meal?

It's usually the first stop, a hacienda 30 minutes before reaching Chichen Itza, and it's approximately between 11 AM and 12 PM. The purpose of this is so that when we enter Chichen Itza, people have energy and can use the restrooms at the restaurant. Since we go straight into Chichen Itza upon arrival, and remember we're only there for 2 hours, it would be a shame for you to lose time because you need to use the bathroom right then!

9. Is water offered on the bus, or do I have to buy it?

The standard excursion doesn't include drinks. However, we have a PLUS option that includes a box lunch, drinks on the transportation, and 2 drinks (350 milliliters each) with the buffet meal

10. If I don't like the buffet, can I eat somewhere else?

You can buy food at the cenote, or snacks at the exit of Chichen Itza or in Valladolid. If you have a very demanding palate, the ideal thing is a private or luxury excursion, or you can bring your own food

1.- What are the accepted payment methods to book the excursion to Chichen Itza?

The best way, if there are fewer than 5 people, is to pay in cash when the transportation picks you up. If there are more than 5 people, you need to pay a deposit to guarantee your attendance. You can also pay through the website or via a payment link

2.- Can I pay with a credit card?

Yes. You can pay with a credit card. However, keep in mind that there's a charge for bank commissions, which is usually 4-5%, and we only accept Visa or MasterCard

3.- Can I pay with a credit / debit card, and do you accept all major brands (Visa, MasterCard, Amex)?

We accept credit cards, but only Visa or MasterCard. Unfortunately, American Express is not accepted. However, keep in mind that there is a charge for bank commissions, which is usually 4-5%. If you don't want to pay that commission and there are fewer than 5 people, you can pay in cash on the day of the excursion

4.- Can I pay everything in cash when you pick me up?

Yes, but only if you are a group of 4 people or less. If you are more than 4 people, a deposit is necessary to guarantee your attendance

5.- Is the price shown on the website the final price, or are there hidden charges (taxes, fees, etc.)?

We include almost everything! For example, the most important things: the price includes the entrance and taxes for Chichen Itza, transportation, food, the cenote, and a quick visit to Valladolid. It doesn't include drinks with the meal or life vests at the cenote (only if you swim). As you can see, we are transparent, so there are no hidden charges, and all fees are explained in detail

6.- What's the price for adults?

Please check this link where the updated price for adults is listed: Adult price

7.- What is the price of the Chichen Itza entrance for children, and what age is considered a minor?

Children are considered to be 3 to 9 years old, and to check the updated prices, click this link: Kids price

8.- Do you have special prices for seniors, locals, people with disabilities, travel agents, or locals?

It depends on the date and the total number of people. If it's low season, we can try to manage some kind of discount. Send a message via WhatsApp, and we'll gladly analyze your specific situation and give you an interesting proposal

9.- What discounts or promotions are offered if we book way in advance?

Unfortunately, we don't accept reservations more than a month in advance. The ideal thing is to make your reservation less than a month ahead of time. If you want a discount, we can look into it, and if it's a group or it's low season, we can give a discount. Just keep in mind that the price is already promotional! Compare prices and quality, and you'll see that we are your best option for visiting Chichen Itza from Cancun

10.- Is there an option to pay a portion as a deposit and settle the remaining balance later?

Yes. You have the option to pay a deposit and pay the rest of the money on the day of the excursion. Also, if there are 4 people or less, you can choose to pay the entire amount on the day of the excursion. Cash payment is ideal

11.- If I decide to pay the remaining balance in cash on the day of the tour, is foreign currency (dollars, euros) accepted, or only Mexican pesos?

We accept 3 types of currency in cash:

  • Mexican Pesos
  • U.S. Dollars
  • Euros

12.- What exactly does the "federal fee/government tax" include, and can it be paid with a card?

It refers to the charges that the state and federal government collect for entering Chichen Itza. The good news is those charges are already included in the price of the excursion, and you don't have to worry about it we handle it for you!

13.- Is there a charge for using a credit card when paying?

Yes, it's usually an extra range of 4-5% for bank commissions, and only Visa or MasterCard are accepted. If you don't want to pay that commission, the ideal thing is to pay in cash if there are 4 or fewer people in your group

14.- If the price of the tour changes after my reservation, will the original price be honored for me?

Yes, that's the main reason why we only accept reservations less than 1 month in advance. Once the reservation is made and confirmed, the price is automatically frozen

15.- Do you offer promotions or special prices if we book several tours (combined packages)?

Usually, yes. We give discounts starting from the second excursion, but send a message because each case is analyzed separately

1.- Can small children go?

Yes, we have 2 options:

  • Kids 3-9 years old get a children's rate and a guaranteed seat
  • Children under 3 are considered infants and don't pay, but they don't have a guaranteed seat, as they are expected to ride in their parent's arms

2.- Is there any age or physical condition restriction to participate in the excursion?

You need to be able to walk, even if it's at a semi-slow pace. We don't have a strict age restriction, but keep in mind that this is a 12-13 hour excursion, so you must be able to withstand an all-day trip. Regarding physical conditions, please send a message; it depends on your physical shape, and each case is analyzed separately

3.- Can a person in my group who is in a wheelchair participate?

Yes, if you have someone to help you with the wheelchair and you can get on and off the bus yourself, and the wheelchair can be folded. Please send a message; it depends on your physical conditions, and each case is analyzed separately

4.- What are the strict rules within the archaeological zone (touching structures, walking off the paths, etc.)?

It's strictly forbidden to touch the structures, you must also not climb the main pyramid, and you shouldn't walk off the established paths. Remember you are in the jungle and can easily get lost, so it's best to always stay where the groups and interesting buildings are

5.- Is the use of drones or professional filming equipment allowed inside Chichen Itza?

Unfortunately, no. You need a special permit from INAH (National Institute of Anthropology and History). Otherwise, they will tell you that you cannot use those devices. I have to be very honest: the custodians who regulate Chichen Itza are not very friendly or empathetic people

6.- Are there restrictions on the type of sunscreen or insect repellent you can use, especially in the cenote?

You can't use any kind of chemicals that could mess up the cenote's clear water! We're talking about makeup, lotions, sunscreens, and repellent. Before getting into the cenote, you have to take a shower to wash off all those chemicals that can affect the water's visibility and the marine life in the cenote

7.- I don't know how to swim. Can I enter the cenote?

Yes, but if you're going into a cenote, you must rent a life vest, they are mandatory

8.- Is the use of a life vest mandatory to swim in the cenote?

Yes, renting a life vest is mandatory if you are going to swim in the cenote

9.- Are pets or service animals allowed into the archaeological zone or on the bus?

10.- Is there a list of items or belongings that are totally prohibited at the archaeological site?

Yes, here's the list:

Professional Gear and Drones

The selfie stick is usually fine, but the tripod is most likely a no-go

There are no specific restrictions, but sneakers and comfortable shoes are recommended. High-heeled shoes are definitely not recommended

Itinerary

Our Chichen Itza Excursion STEP BY STEP

Important: There is a possibility that the excursion itinerary is inverted, for example: Cenote - Lunch - Chichen - Valladolid. Even though you'll visit the same places and spend the same hours there, sometimes we make this decision to make your trip more enjoyable if both Chichen and the Cenote are crowded. This decision is based on different factors concerning logistics, weather conditions or security reasons.

Important: All times are estimated. There are factors beyond our control, like people who are late, heavy traffic coming from or going to Cancun, road incidents or flat tires. Although the schedule presented is for illustrative purposes only, and times can vary, we will do everything we can to meet the schedule.

At first I had my reservations about posting the itinerary, because this is a day-long excursion, but I would like to explain two things.

1.- We want to be clear from the beginning to avoid misunderstandings. See if other excursion operators elaborate on their tours with as much detail as us. We speak with the truth, but we understand if you decide to go on another tour.

2. Is it worth spending all day on this excursion? the answer is a resounding YES!

Read the reviews on TripAdvisor, You'll visit a place comparable to the Eiffel Tower in France, Machu Picchu in Peru or the Great Wall of China, without a doubt. Besides, if you think about it, staying at your hotel means you'll spend more time shopping or doing other activities. We'll keep you entertained all day long and, most importantly, at the end of the day you'll go to sleep happy and glad for all the things you saw, heard and felt, all for an INCREDIBLE price!

Check the itinerary and, if for some reason, it doesn't adjust to your needs, we have all options available. If you would like to spend more time at Chichen's archaeological site, you can choose from Chichen Express or Chichen Private Tour. Don't think twice, send a message on WhatsApp, or call us, we are here to help you.

  • PickUps atMeeting points

During this time we will be picking up our passengers. We have predefined routes, and the Pick Up time is based on the location of your hotel.

  • Enjoy a regional BUFFET MEAL

Enjoy the gastronomic delights of the region, we have options for almost every taste!. With the buffet lunch you'll be able to eat as much as you want, but we would like to ask you not to waste food. Finally, it is worth mentioning that drinks are not included and they must be paid for in cash at the moment of the order.

  • Arrival to Chichen Itza

2 hour visit to the archaeological site of Chichen Itza. 30-45 minutes of guided tour with a certified guide. 1h15 min of free time to explore the place, take pictures, etc. Trust me, it's more than enough time to explore the site, but we have more options if you would like to spend more time in Chichen. Just write us an email, we are happy to help you!

  • Visit to Cenote

After two hours in Chichen you might want to swim in the freshwater cenote, a breathtaking place of vertical walls, where we'll spend approximately an hour. Don't forget to bring your swimsuit and beach towel!

  • Visit to the Colonial city of Valladolid

An opportunity to visit a beautiful magical town called Valladolid, a colonial church, and a picturesque park. You'll also have a chance to admire the indigenous mayans in their everyday activities and see their crafts.

  • Return trip to Cancun

We return to Cancun without intermediate stops, so you can rest and have an emotional summary of everything you experienced during the day

  • Arrival to Cancun

The aproximate arrival time at your hotel is between 08:30 and 09:30 pm in the area of Cancun

  • You must know how to swim in order to enter the cenote (is mandatory to rent a life-jacket)

"Visiting this UNESCO world heritage site was one of the highlights of our trip to Mexico. Go with a guided tour which can explain all of the intricate architecture and religion around the ruins. Bring an UMBRELLA, hat, sunscreen and a fan! You will burn like a crisp and sweat in places you didn't know you could sweat. I've never been hotter in my life, but that's what we get for visiting in August. It was worth it and I'd still do it again. There are vendors lining the outskirts of the site and they will constantly pester you to buy things if you make eye contact. Just ignore them and focus on the ruins which are truly awe inspiring. A must-see."

"My husband and I went to Chichen Itza during our trip to Cancun. It was utterly breathtaking! we were some of the only English speaking folk on our bus, and got hooked up with an English guide away from our group. We were so glad we did, because he turned out to be one of the archeologists that work on excavating the site!! He was so knowledgable and took us around the entire park instead of just to a few of the buildings. I learned so much and recommend everyone check this out if you love history!"

"This Magical place will captivate your mind and soul, Kukulcan Piramide fortunately is still well preserved and wasn't desecrated like other pyramids to build Churches. The site as a Whole has a magical feeling of peacefulness and mixed emotions this trip was a soul searching trip"

"Awesome place, the history behind this place is amazing, how they managed to align the buildings is unbelievable, and the echoes in the ball park and at the temple it self need to be heard to be believed."

"Anyone visiting Cancun or Riviera Maya should not miss visiting one of the 7 wonders of the Modern World. Chichen Itza is a breathtaking experience and the technology that they have developed back then considering the limited resources is amazing.

Don't miss clapping or snapping in front of the temple to experience the acoustic effect that was intended to make the priest's voice loud and probably give a sacred or revered impression. "

"There is so much to see here that you need at least 2 hours to explore. The main venues that you always see are incredible but there is so much more here than you ever see on any of the documentaries on TV. take you time and your camera, you won't be disappointed!"

"It was an amazing experience to see these old ruins, but boy was it crowded! They were expecting at least 8-10k people and I believe them. Very crowded and very hot but still worth the visit. We traveled via charter bus from Cancun. All in all it was more than a two hour ride to get there from the coast."

"We visited Chichen Itza as part of an excursion booked through web page. It's a magical site to see in person. A lot smaller than we thought it would be. It's mainly the pyramid surrounded by smaller areas, like a cemetery and an arena. I would recommend a organized excursion. Our guide was very informative. We learned a lot about the Mayans. In fact, our guide talked so much that he talked right into our free roaming time. We didn't mind at all because there is so much to learn. It also gave us an excuse to rush out. There are vendors lining the sidewalks on the outskirts of the site. Very pushy vendors. Definitely worth the heat (109) and hassle to see this once. PS.Bring an umbrella for shade. Although there are plenty for sale at the entrance."

"The experience of visiting one of the 7 wonders of the world leaves you in awe. My family split in to two groups to get the most of the experience. My Mom went with Mike who handed the Spanish speaking tour, and my daughters and I went with Ruben on the English tour. Both guides did a phenomenal job at explaining everything that our eyes were seeing and gave us so much history on the Mayan culture. I was very impressed with the amount of information provided. My kids enjoyed the tour as well. They were both paying close attention to everything Ruben was talking about."

"we visited as part of a holiday vacation; and it certainly takes a long time to get out here but is worth it to see one of the 7 modern wonder of the world. The tour guides take you through the history of Chichen Itza. Be prepared it is hot (we went in May so extremely hot) Bring water lots of it with you. The only annoying part is there are people selling things on the grounds of the ruins. Our guide explained they aren't suppose to but they can not be removed. They are annoying but you can walk right past them. Hoping some day they are removed from the grounds."

"We visited here as part of a large tour bus. It was hot and super crowded. Since my family loves history we could not miss it.

We loved every minute of it.

Walking: The ground among the ruins is very uneven and Rocky. Wear tennis shoes.

The vendors inside the walls: on the way in each vendor will tell you a price. As you leave the ruins, the price seems to go down by $20-$30 minimum.

Restrooms: maybe one with 15 stalls for the women. Expect a line and no air conditioning."

"This is one of the seven wonders of the world! The experienced was mistic and unforgetable. Lots to learn and see. The feeling of going back in time is as unique as the scenery around. Well worth the 3 hour journey from the hotel."

"Loved every moment spent there. Our tour guide was amazing. Great knowledge and very interesting. The groups are beautiful so much history at this place. Wish we had more time to explore a little more. We went with a group and timed. I think I would go on my own next time and just join a group to learn more and visit the cenote and the observatory."

"We took an organized tour from our Cancun resort that included a stop at a cenote for a swim, buffet lunch, shopping time and a tour of Chichen Itza. Chichen Itza itself is a wonder and well worth the tour. I wish it had been cooler (traveled in January and the heat index was over 100 F) so we could have had a more leisurely tour and really taken in the entire grounds. A remarkable place that our entire family enjoyed!"
