Izamal Magical Town
We'll visit the San Antonio de Padua convent, the Main Square
Izamal the yellow city is a magical town with a beautiful charm. The convent is a beautiful site where you'll see the mixture and grandeur of the Mayan and Spanish cultures. It tells story of Catholic religion in the region and the evangelization process of the Franciscan monks to the Mayan population. Here there are guides that talk about the history of the site and how this town came to be known as the famous yellow city
The convent and the church are places of great cultural heritage, it's also open to visits and masses, it's a tradition to visit it, as an interesting fact the place was visited by Pope John Paul II is his visit to the Yucatan peninsula and has the second atrium largest in the world after St. Peter's Square in the Vatican, you can freely tour the convent as it has no cost
Chichen Itza
If you have dreamed of visiting the Chichén Itza ruins since you were a child, then don't miss out on this opportunity. Chichen Itza will not disappoint you. The complex is large with many temples and structures on the site. The details in the sizes are incredible
The best thing without a doubt is the pyramid of Kukulcan, it's impressive in size and detail. From the number of steps to the temple (365) to its orientation (east to west, and north to south) with the sun, moon, and stars (like Venus). It really is impressive to look at.
This pyramid is located in the center of the Chichén Itza archaeological site. There are some trees around its perimeter that can be used to shelter you from the sun or rain depending on the weather conditions. Seeing this first hand, it is easy to see why UNESCO has considered it a world heritage site, and you will quickly know why it is synonymous with iconic images of Mexico.
It's a magnificent pyramid, an unbelievable piece of human innovation, with nearly perfect stone steps rising above you and extending to the temple at the top.
The large, flat lawn in front of it serves to accentuate its size and splendor.
With our Chichen Itza excursion from Merida you'll receive a detailed history of the Mayan culture. Amazing to think that these people were so advanced in math, engineering, and astronomy. Makes you wonder how they managed to do it thousands of years ago.
Beautiful Cenote
Every visit to Chichen Itza is worth a dip in the cool water of the cenote!
Just down the road from Chichen Itza, it will be very nice to swim here after a long warm day.
The cenotes in the region are an interesting geological feature and there are very many. This one has a ladder down and an area to jump into the cold, clear water. It is not allowed to use sunscreen or repellent in the water to protect the fish and the ecosystem. There is a restaurant and a gift shop.
The views of this cenote are impressive. You can rent a life jacket. There are ropes to help you stay afloat if necessary. Your family will enjoy jumping in.
Important: The entrance fee to the cenote is not included
Regional Meal
Next we'll stop for lunch as part of our Chichen Itza tour from Merida. A wonderful old hacienda of one of the richest people in the area. The food is a delicious regional meal, with many selections, a lot of variety for vegetarians / meat lovers. The lemonade squeezed by hand is really delicious. Occasionally there is entertainment, a typical regional dance, enlivened by two couples who will be very entertaining. The servers are attentive without being overbearing. There are not many options in the area and this is a good option.
Valladolid Magical Town
Valladolid is another magical town of the state of Yucatan, we'll visit the main park, the church of San Gervasio. You'll experience the splendor of a colonial town with its great cultural both Mayan and Spanish.
Charming and full of life is the central square of the city, on one of its sides the 16th century Cathedral of San Gervasio and in the center the fountain of the mestizas, along with the double benches for lovers are the most outstanding things to see. We will witness a typical dance next to the fountain that runs through the square, the Cathedral and some businesses.
This is Valladolid, full of beautiful attractions, everywhere you look you will have an understanding and feel of the best that was and is now Mexico.

Itinerary
Based on our experience and in an effort to protect the integrity of the excursion, we reserve the right to modify the order of the itinerary, if needed based on previous experiences. We guarantee that any changes made will be more satisfactory for our clients. For example.
There is the possibility that at the entrance of Chichen Itza, they a blocking access to the site, exactly at the time that we have scheduled our arrival at the archaeological site. We can make the decision to do the excursion the other way around, that is, to visit the cenote and then have lunch followed by visiting Chichen Itza.
It's only one example of one of the many things that could happen. Again, this does not change the ultimate objective of the excursion. We'll visit all the sites on the list. The only difference would be the order, but the times in each place would be the same. The order of the sites does not alter the tour.
It's also important to explain this itinerary is only for illustrative purposes, and in the same way we'll have to make the adjustments, for example, heavy rain, accidents on the road, flat tires, late people etc.
We will do everything to comply with the established times, but if due to othe forces they cannot be met, we will make neccessary adjustments, do not worry, you will be kept informed of why these decisions are made. It does not mean that the tour is not being fulfilled, it just means the itinerary will be changed.
We want to be upfront from the beginning to avoid misunderstandings, please compare us with other websites and you will realize that they are not even close to the level of detail that we used in our explanations this in order to avoid surprises or misunderstandings.
Check out this itinerary and if for some reason something does not meet the expectations of your group, do not worry we have other options such as Chichen Private. As you can see by booking with us you are in very good hands.

"Since I knew that I would make my trip to Merida, I knew that I wanted to go to Chichen Itza, since it is one of the 7 wonders of the world, but besides that for me it is a beautiful place! full of history, enigmatic and imposing, certainly a destination that you should not miss."
Jose R
"We enjoyed our day trip from Merida to this ancient sight....quite impressive but it wouldn't have been as meaningful without all the information our guide Pali provided. The skill and precision that the ancient builders used is quite amazing. The visit to the cenote was disappointing and the included lunch barely edible. Highly recommend the Chichen Itza experience though."
Raul
"You should visit Merida, it’s a beautiful place with incredible places where you can spend time with your family, like visiting Chichén Itzá, one of the wonders of the world, beautiful architecture and a lot of cultural significance for the Maya’s civilization, or maybe the Archaeological Zone of Uxmal wich is similar to Chichén Itzá, a very important place for the mayan culture. For both places you have to bring very comfortable shoes and light way clothes because you will walk a lot."
Gerardo
"Took a tour from Merida to Chichen Itza. Our driver Cesar had great info on Mayan towns on the way there and was an expert on the route. A nice lunch was included that also included vegetarian options for us! Pali, our guide for the tour was very knowledgeable and provided lots of information not easily found in general literature. Awesome day!"
